In October, during the Baptist Convention of New Mexico’s Annual Meeting, I had the privilege of sharing the annual report for the Children’s Home. It was a sweet opportunity to reflect on the lives touched and futures rewritten through the love and support of our partners. This summary captures the key points from that report. BRINGING HOPE TODAY
Children have a unique way of bringing joy and humility, often through their innocent and humorous observations. Sometimes, though, their questions reveal deeper insights. Recently, a young boy asked a staff member if they loved their son, reminding us that, for some children, a parent’s love isn’t something to be taken for granted. This is a powerful reminder that when working with children or adults from hard places, it is often a long road of living out the gospel in front of them day in and day out before they can even begin to understand the love of God.
Right now, over 2,000 children in New Mexico’s foster care system are awaiting safe, stable homes. If you follow the news, we’ve learned that many of those children are sleeping in offices and shelters awaiting a warm bed in a safe home.
Clearly, the fields are ripe for harvest. Please join us in prayer for workers in this field so that we can help to meet these needs. We believe that God will send us highly committed, godly houseparents. We have also opened up opportunities for single women to serve as houseparents in teams. Our goal is to bring hope to hurting children and families. We know it is only in the hope of Jesus that futures are truly rewritten. With your continued prayers, we can bring hope to these children.

- Hope Counseling provided more than 300 counseling sessions.
- Bridge to Hope (Christian Job Corps) offered thousands of hours of classes to those looking to turn their lives around. These services are available to you and your community at no cost.
- Adoption Services continues to find loving homes for children waiting for a family. We have older children who are awaiting adoption. We encourage you or anyone you know who might be interested to reach out.
FOR REWRITTEN TOMORROWS
Thanks to your support, countless lives have been transformed. Keisha, once at risk of following a path of addiction, is now in college, studying to become a teacher. Oliver, after years in foster care, is now thriving with his adoptive family. Marcus is proudly serving in the military, grateful for the opportunities he found here. Each of these young people has a renewed sense of purpose and hope, demonstrating how your love and care truly rewrite futures.
When 53-year-old Karla visited the campus recently for the first time, she shared an incredible story about how NMBCH helped change her family’s life. Karla’s mother, Jean, experienced hardship and neglect early in life. However, through her houseparents’ dedication and faithfulness, Jean came to know the love of Jesus Christ and the love the Father has for her. This legacy was passed down to her children and grandchildren, who now serve and follow God. Karla’s story shows how your support reaches across generations, rewriting futures and bringing hope.
Your generous support is what makes all of this possible. As many of you know, our funding is outside convention dollars. Give to the convention, give to the state mission offering, but don’t forget about the children. God loves and cares for the orphaned. We cannot do this without you! Every gift makes a lasting difference.
BEING A PART OF FUTURES REWRITTEN
Every day, we see how God is rewriting the futures of the children in our care, thanks to your prayers, support, and commitment. Together, we can continue to share His love and bring hope to young lives. Thank you for joining us in this mission and for all you do to make these rewritten futures possible.
