Workamper Opportunity:


Summer Workamper:

 

NMBCH is taking applications for a workamper for the summer  (mid-May through August).

We are seeking a couple or single to volunteer 16-22 hours a week helping to feed animals and do barnyard type chores and lawn chores. These hours will typically be over the weekend and they will include weekend feeding of animals. Full hook up with sewer and water provided PLUS use of a washer and dryer. 

 

Prospective candidate must:

  • Be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs over uneven terrain. 
  • Be comfortable working with and feeding small barnyard animals (including goats, pigs, chickens, sheep, cats, etc.). 
  • Be able to operate small lawn equipment (including weed trimmer, lawn mower, shovel, etc.) while utilizing proper safety equipment (provided).
  • Be able to follow written instructions outlining animal feeding and tasks to be completed. 
  • Be able to remove brush or tumbleweeds if gathered on fences or around buildings.

NMBCH is a Christian children's home located in eastern New Mexico which provides a home for children from traumatic backgrounds. Due to the nature of our program, alcohol, illegal drugs, marijuana, CBD, tobacco products, vapes, etc. are prohibited. 

 

Candidates will need to submit to a fingerprint background and agree to the NMBCH code of conduct and dress code while on campus. They will need to have a clean driving record. We also have a pet policy which must be followed if a pet is part of your family. In addition, they will need to complete a short training that is specific to community home volunteers. 

 

NMBCH is a non-profit organization located on the high plains of eastern New Mexico in a warm and welcoming community. The summers are comfortable with cool nights and the mountains are only a couple of hours away. The RV area is quiet and rests under an open sky on our gated campus.
